Dr. Scott Smetana
Scott grew up on a farm in Plainville, Kansas. Many trips were taken to Colorado to visit family and the Rocky Mountains. After high school, Scott attended the University of Kansas where he played varsity football. He graduated with honors and was chosen for the academic all Big-8 Football team. He attended Medical School at the University of Kansas in Kansas City where he met and married his wife Penny. After finishing residency training in St. Louis, they wasted no time heading west to the mountains of Colorado.
Scott and Penny have loved calling Colorado Springs home since 2004. They have two very active and adventurous children, Katerina (10) and Jackson (8). Scott is an Ophthalmologist with the Eye Associates of Colorado Springs and has satellite offices in Leadville and Buena Vista. He is active with the local medical community and is a member of First Presbyterian Church. He loves planning family hiking, skiing, and camping trips anywhere there are mountains and a stream. He is also an avid Broncos and Kansas Jayhawk fan.
Scott has loved exploring many corners of Colorado and so far has climbed 20 of the 14ers. He has competed in multiple Pikes Peak Ascents as well as numerous other trail races around Colorado.
Scott is extremely thankful and proud to be part of the unique tradition of the AdAmAn club, and looks forward to many successful fireworks displays atop Pike's Peak.
